Therese Flynn-Clark and Nicola Hooper will be running a series of sixteen workshops with the members of First Service, Inc. in Eagleby.

The Homesickness School holds weekly classes where formal lectures, delivered by the convenors, artists and guest speakers, are accompanied by informal group discussions.

The general public are invited to attend the classes.

Sharka Bosakova will be running a series of weekly workshops with the members of the Kingston East Neighbourhood Group.

The workshops will form the basis for a public/street event planned for late-2014.

Linda Carroli will be the guest speaker at the Homesickness School on Thursday, the 17th of July.

Linda will join the school to discuss broad currents in placemaking, with reference to a diverse range of artistic, design and planning processes and practices. She will particularly reflect on the emergence of DIY urbanism and social engagement, drawing on examples and case studies she has presented as part of her Changescaping project. The presentation recognises that the cultural development and engagement in the city is interdisciplinary and relational.

Using Doreen Wendt-Weir's book, Barefoot at Logan Village, as a starting point, Natasha Narain will work with members of the Logan Village Library Book Group to develop a project to be completed for the annual Logan Village Music and Heritage Festival in September, 2015.

The guest speaker at this week's class for the Homesickness School will be Rebecca Conroy, who will speak about the Yurt Empire, a collective of artists that formed to investigate ideas surrounding habitation and community in Green Square, Sydney.

As with all the school's classes, entry is free and open to the general public.
